Hillside to the Hollow Open House August 20

posted Aug 17, 2014, 7:12 AM by joanie fauci

Local residents are invited to attend an open house to provide feedback on a draft master site plan for Hillside to Hollow from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Hillside Junior High School, 3536 W. Hill Road.

The Land Trust of the Treasure Valley (LTTV) and City of Boise each purchased separate parcels of land, which comprise the 319-acre Hillside to Hollow nature area north of Hill Road between 36th Street and Bogus Bain Road.  A master site plan is needed to guide stewardship of the land.

At the meeting, citizens will be able to review and provide feedback on maps and concepts developed with input gathered from hundreds of people in the last six months at three public meetings, via email and phone calls.

Topic areas include:

·         Trail use

·         Neighborhood access points

·         Parking needs

·         Erosion control

Staff members from the City of Boise, Ridge to Rivers and LTTV will be available to discuss options and gather public response.

For a summary of frequently asked questions, meeting notes, a trail/access analysis map and public feedback received to date, please see: http://parks.cityofboise.org/parks-locations/parks/hillside-to-hollow-reserve/

Those who are unable to attend are invited to share their views online. A master plan map and feedback questionnaire will be posted Aug. 21 on the Hillside to Hollow webpage at http://parks.cityofboise.org.

A final master site plan will be presented to the Boise Parks & Recreation Commission for discussion on Thursday, Sept. 18.
