Spring 2017 Update

posted Apr 27, 2017, 2:45 PM by joanie fauci

Cheerful Spring Greetings, Neighbors!

We just wanted to give you a brief update on a few upcoming events.

• On Wednesday, May third, there is a hearing at the Idaho Supreme Court at 451 W. State Street, at 8:50 a.m. This hearing is about the Bedard property, above Hillside Junior High School. See the flyer for more information: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzMTg2fuptrldVQ1empWVUhVZHc

• The chipper truck will be making its rounds throughout the neighborhood again this Spring! The dates are: May 15 and 16, and May 22 and 23 (Mondays and Tuesdays).

The Central Foothills Neighborhood Association has secured a grant through the City of Boise Community Reinvestment Grant program for a "fire fuels reduction" program. Two chipper trucks will cruise through the neighborhood collecting and chipping debris.

The chipper trucks will pick up any woody debris (brush, branches etc.) from the curbside in front of your house. They will only collect landscape waste — no root balls or grass clippings. Materials can be any length, but the trunks can be no more than ten inches (10") in diameter. The landscape waste does not need to be bagged or roped together, but does need to assembled at the end of your driveway for easy pick up.

• The trailheads on Hillway Drive will be modified soon. The steep trail near the fire hydrant will be closed. The trail near the Mutt-Mitts station will have steps installed. Dates for these changes are uncertain, but should occur in May. If you'd like to volunteer to assist, please contact:centralfoothillsna@gmail.com.

• We are pursuing a neighborhood reinvestment grant in cooperation with the Highlands Neighborhood Association to install a rest room near the end of North Harrison Hollow Lane (near Healthwise). Wouldn't that be great?
