Save the Date: Chipper Truck is Back!
The Central Foothills Neighborhood Association (CFNA) recently received a Neighborhood Reinvestment Grant award and a mini-grant!

The Neighborhood Reinvestment Program (NRP) program is a partnership between the City of Boise and City registered neighborhood associations.  The program funds comprehensive neighborhood plans and capital construction projects to help enrich the lives of our Boiseans, enhance the identity and quality of life in neighborhoods and encourage a strong sense of community. The program also funds mini-grants to support neighborhood communication and community building.  Neighborhood input is a valued aspect of the program. Active neighborhood associations were invited to generate ideas for Neighborhood Reinvestment projects and CFNA was successful in our applications (one for the chipper truck and one for communications)!

So – as part of our Firewise neighborhood efforts, CFNA’s neighborhood reinvestment award is focused on minimizing wild fire potential in the Central Foothills Neighborhood.  We once again are working with Forest Management Inc. to bring the chipper back to our neighborhood.  They are very busy and not able to be in our neighborhood until June.  But as part of your spring cleaning, you can start rounding up your yard debris now for pick-up in June!

The chipper truck will pick up any woody debris (e.g. brush, branches, etc.) from the curbside in front of your house. The chipper is only available for landscape waste and is not intended for non-landscaping materials. Material can be any length and no more than ten inches (10”) in diameter. Landscape waste does not need to be bagged, but assembled at the end of your driveway for the driver to pick up.

SAVE THE DATES: June 20th and 21st AND
June 27th and 28th!

Forest Management Inc. will be in the Central Foothills neighborhood on two consecutive weeks; Monday and Tuesday June 20th and 21st;  and the following week, Monday and Tuesday June  27th and 28th. Please have all your material at the curb no later than Sunday evening prior to pick-up dates. They will not back-track to pick up material put out after they have been down your street.

We will have the Chipper Truck back in the fall (Sept or Oct) for another round of cleanup!  We’ll send out reminders as the June (and fall) dates get closer – but MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW!
