-- Help Protect the Tranquility and Trails of the Boise Foothills --Join Your Neighbors and Friends by Completing the Petition BelowNestled in the Central Foothills are 270 acres of prime open space, one of the few remaining quiet, accessible areas in the lower Foothills. This area, North of Hill Road between Bogus Basin Road and 36th Street, is traversed by more than 10 miles of trails. Most any hour of the day, and through out the year, these trails are used by walkers, hikers, bicyclists, bird watchers, runners, and those just seeking some solace from hectic lives. This area is also home to abundant wildlife: Fox, deer, hawks, owls, and many song birds flourish in our foothills. Numerous, and sometimes rare native plants and wildflowers thrive here too. Unfortunately, a housing development is now being planned for this land. Along with such a development comes increased traffic on already overburdened roads, congestion, and numerous safety concerns. If this development moves forward, we will also see adverse impacts to the quality of life of the area, and Boise will lose a little more of its highly valued backdrop. If you would like to see the Central Foothills area, bounded approximately by Hill Road, Bogus Basin Road and 36th Street, retained for its valued recreation, quality-of-life, and aesthetic elements, please join your friends and neighbors by completing the petition below to let Boise City, Ada County, and development officials know the best use of this land is for it to remain open space. *Thank you if you have already signed or completed a petition. Number of online petitions submitted: 1140
